We’ve noticed some confusion around Kickstarter – what it is and how it works. The goal of this post is to address those questions!

Kickstarter is a vehicle for project backing that enables entrepreneurs to bring products to market by rewarding backers with first access to the product in question in exchange for their contributions. Kickstarter is much like Groupon in that it's all or nothing. If for some reason the project doesn't meet the goal, no one pays a dime. This makes Kickstarter a great platform for folks to access new and innovative products and gives inventors and start-ups a chance to get the funding they need to get started.

In 2014 alone, 22,250 projects were successfully funded on Kickstarter and $529 million dollars were pledged. So if you have an idea – get it out there!

MittGrips is using Kickstarter to raise the funds needed to place our first production order. MittGrips are the essential winter sleeve for keeping children’s mittens on and snow out. Here’s the video if you haven’t watched it already:

Thanks to our supporters for backing and sharing our project, we’re on track for meeting our goal at the beginning of February! Backers should expect their MittGrips in hand by March. So if you're considering backing MittGrips and are putting it off, please don't, and if you haven’t already please share, share, share! :)
